Zimbabwe has a way of staying in your heart long after you leave

The lingering of the light over the Zambezi at dawn

The powerful roar of the Falls carried on the wind

what does VFWT do on the ground

Evidence-led conservation from the heart of Zimbabwe

We protect wildlife through conservation, science, and community — and we measure everything. All figures below are from our 2025 Impact Report.

CONSERVATION

Direct protection of lions, elephants, and vultures

Our ‘boots on the ground’ teams support snare-removal and anti-poaching operations across the Zambezi National Park – helping keep wildlife alive

COMMUNITY

Communities and wildlife learning to co-exist

A Personal Note from Andy Flower OBE (VFWT UK Ambassador)

My career has taken me out of Zimbabwe but in some ways my heart never left. Like many, I especially yearn for the sights and sounds of the Zimbabwean bush, so I was really excited to become the Ambassador for VFWT UK.
I get updates from the team on the ground, on their brilliant conservation work, and stay connected with what I really miss.

A PERSONAL NOTE

Why we’re building this community – and what you can do to help us succeed

As much as we would like donations – your support is just as important – to help us to make big difference

Fame

Help us spread the word to people who love Zimbabwe

There are thousands of Zimbabweans (and tourists) in UK who fell in love with the country and its wildlife.

We would like to bring this community together, sharing our passion and spreading the word.

Fans

Help us amplify
our stories

We are very proud of what we achieve every day – rescuing snared animals, providing essential forensic evidence to fight wildlife crime, supporting rural communities to live in harmony with wildlife.

Our stories die quietly if no one helps them travel.

Funding

Every pound goes directly to Zimbabwe

We are a charity operating in a challenging time and place. Occasionally we will make an appeal for funding.

When we do, our UK trustees cover the running costs,  so 100% of every donation reaches our team in Zimbabwe.

If you know someone who loves Zimbabwe and cares about its wildlife – please share our website page with them.

Every person you introduce to our work can help us spread the word

Follow us. Share our newsletter. Like our posts and leave a comment when something moves you.

Being an advocate for the work our team deliver every day.

A donation that feels modest in the UK is significant in Zimbabwe.
